Fraud Prevention Notice
Last updated:
Aquila Law asks clients and the public to be alert to telecommunications fraud involving people who impersonate lawyers, firms or authorities. Verify identities through the contact channels published on this website.
1. Warning signs
- Promises of guaranteed recovery or success, or demands for immediate payment based on supposed special access.
- Requests to pay an unverified personal account, cryptocurrency address or payment code.
- Requests for one-time codes, passwords, payment credentials, screen sharing or remote access.
- Unknown links, QR codes or software downloads.
- Pressure based on account checks, investigations or threatened penalties, combined with attempts to prevent independent verification.
2. How to verify
- Do not rely solely on contact details supplied by the person who approached you.
- Call the telephone number published on this site to confirm identity, the matter, fees and the recipient of any payment.
- Before signing or paying, check the formal engagement documents, lawyer details, firm and account name, and scope of work.
- If you cannot verify a request, stop payments, downloads, permissions and disclosure of information.
3. Protect information and funds
Safeguard identification documents, bank details, codes, passwords, case materials and communications. Confirm the recipient, purpose and channel before sending sensitive information.
4. If you suspect fraud
Stop contact and payment, keep messages, account details, links and payment records, and contact your bank or payment provider promptly. Call 110 or report to the local police in China. Do not follow further instructions to unlock an account, verify identity or pay again.
5. Impersonation
Unauthorized use of Aquila Law's name, lawyers' names or marks for solicitation, fees, investment or recovery does not represent the firm. Please report suspected misuse through our published contact channels.
6. Updates
Fraud methods change. We may update this notice in light of public risk information and site operations. Please refer to the latest version shown here.
Knowing your personal details does not prove a caller's identity. Stop first, then verify independently.
